Growing up in Northern California, Chuck was heavily influenced by his European mother, a professional skier and windsurfer, and father, a nuclear physicist at UC Berkeley. Spending most of his time on skis starting at the age of two years old, made for a perfect foundation to pursue his love for action sports.
He now divides his time living between Southern California, Maui and Lake Tahoe mentoring & training young aspiring athletes. A majority of his time is spent traveling the world chasing big waves and mountain snow while creatively working on film/photo documentary projects, commercial shoots and sponsor appearances. Not one to ever slow down or stop progressing. Chuck continues to expand his career into other areas and pursue challenges that guarantee to push him mentally and physically.
Chuck Patterson is a role model and mentor to athletes at all stages in their careers. He is a recognized multi action sports veteran and title holder in not one, but six s (skiing, snowboarding, surfing, tow-in surfing, kite surfing, and stand up paddling), and has gracefully pursued his passion for extreme sports while giving back to his community through organizations such as Miracles for Kids, and coaching the newest team riders in his field. He held the world record for a cliff jump in skiing (142’), was the four time US Extreme Combined Ski & Snowboard champion, and has won over 70 major titles in the standup paddle board world alone, with a distinction of receiving the SUP Lifetime Achievement Award in September 2015.
